Disney announces an official opening date for their new fully immersive Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser hotel at Walt Disney World in Florida.
Disney has announced the official opening date for the upcoming Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser hotel at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. Plans for the luxury Star Wars themed hotel were first announced back in 2017 at Disney’s D23 expo, with an initial projected opening set for 2021. Disney promised a fully immersive experience for guests who board the Galactic Starcruiser, with the hotel set to link directly to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, the Star Wars-inspired land located in Disney’s Hollywood Studios park.
Guests on the Galactic Starcruiser will be able to live as though they are a character within the Star Wars universe, cruising through the galaxy, for the duration of their stay. Visitors are encouraged to dress up and get involved with the experience, as cast members at the hotel will have their own roles to play in order to truly set the scene. The Starcruiser will follow its own storyline, so guests can feel as though they are actually making the jump to hyperspace, with the rooms equipped with screens in lieu of windows to give the true feeling of being in a galaxy far, far away.
