Dominic Toretto hilariously becomes Groot in a new piece of Fast & Furious and Guardians of the Guardians crossover art. Vin Diesel is perhaps best known for his portrayal of Dominic Toretto in the Fast & Furious franchise. Since his debut as the character in 2001, Diesel has become one of the highest-grossing actors on the planet. This is thanks in no small part to him voicing the anthropomorphic tree, Groot, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Guardians of the Galaxy franchise.
Not unlike Fast & Furious, Guardian of the Galaxy follows a ragtag, diverse crew of misfits and, not unlike Dom’s affinity for talking about “family,” Groot is also prone to repeating certain words. It’s been a while since audiences have heard Diesel say “I am Groot” and they’ll have to wait another year to see Groot return in The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special and then Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (2023). On the other hand, Dom returned earlier this year with F9: The Fast Saga. The film delved into the Toretto family past and introduced Dom’s estranged brother Jakob (John Cena). It also saw its team of street racers build a rocket and go into space, setting a new bar for suspension of disbelief and making any crossovers a possibility.
