Keke Palmer will be featured in the fifth and final season of HBO’s Insecure after tweeting its creator Issa Rae and asking for a part.
Keke Palmer landed herself a role in Insecure season 5 after tweeting the HBO show’s creator Issa Rae. HBO is preparing to release Insecure‘s final season on October 24. The show, co-created by Rae and Larry Wilmore, is a beloved dramedy that navigates the ups and downs experienced by a young Black woman living in Los Angeles. Rae stars as the main character, also named Issa, and the show was born out of her web series Awkward Black Girl.
Insecure’s final chapter will likely wrap up many of the storylines that have been present since the show premiered in 2016, particularly involving some curveballs thrown into season 4. Issa and Molly (Yvonne Orji), one-time best friends, have been estranged from one another. Tiffany (Amanda Seales) has been struggling with postpartum depression, and her friends have been trying to help her. And Lawrence (Jay Ellis) is dealing with major changes, like a move to San Francisco and grappling with Condola (Christina Elmore)’s surprise pregnancy.
