In issue #44 of IDW’s Sonic the Hedgehog, Dr. Starline’s experiments prove that Dr. Eggman’s alter ego Mr. Tinker builds better robots.
The robots created by Dr. Eggman‘s good alter ego Mr. Tinker are so much more complex than the villain’s Badniks that Sonic the Hedgehog would undoubtedly lose if Mr. Tinker ever returned and waged war against him.
IDW Publishing first introduced Mr. Tinker during Dr. Eggman’s mysterious absence that began at the end of the Eggman War. A still unexplained injury caused Dr. Eggman to forget his identity and adopt the happy, animal-loving personality of Mr. Tinker who repaired broken toys and built amusement parks for his furry friends. During this time, Mr. Tinker built his wooden marionette Belle the Tinkerer who later joins Sonic’s Restoration team. Dr. Eggman’s once-mega-fanboy-turned-traitor Dr. Starline soon kidnaps Belle and analyzes her to help him gain insight on a future undisclosed experiment (most likely to create Sonic and Tails’ evil twins) in Sonic the Hedgehog #44 by writer Ian Flynn and artist Bracardi Curry.
