Venom Twitter 'Roasts' Comics Writer With Let There Be Carnage Quote

Venom comics writer Donny Cates found himself on the receiving end of a rather sweet “roast” after provoking the Let There Be Carnage social account.

Comics writer Donny Cates gets playfully “roasted” by Venom: Let There Be Carnage on social media. Once scheduled for release in 2020, Venom: Let There Be Carnage will finally arrive in theaters this weekend. Directed by Andy Serkis, the sequel once again stars Tom Hardy as disgruntled journalist Eddie Brock. As fans will recall from 2018’s Venom, Eddie is now the somewhat reluctant host of the symbiote Venom, and the new movie will find the two still adjusting to living together. Based on the many teasers for Venom: Let There Be Carnage, they’re way past their honeymoon stage.

All progress will be disrupted by the arrival of an even more dangerous symbiote known as Carnage. He was teased in the post-credits scene for Venom, which also introduced Woody Harrelson as incarcerated serial killer Cletus Kasady. After Eddie visits him in prison for an interview, Cletus becomes the host to Carnage, thus setting the stage for a deadly pairing. Beyond Carnage, Venom 2 will introduce his love Shriek (Naomie Harris) while also bringing back Eddie’s ex Anne (Michelle Williams).
